A note on my regulatory record
If you've searched my name and come across a finding from the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA), this page is for you. I'd rather you read what I have to say about it directly than form an impression from a search snippet.
What the finding said
In 2025, the PSRA made a finding against me in connection with a complaint made by a director of an OMC — an insurance policy had lapsed because an AGM and budget had not been called to fund the OMC. The full record is on the PSRA's public register.
Essentially, during the COVID pandemic we missed a number of important deadlines with a customer. Consequently, after we had resigned as their managing agent they made a complaint to the PSRA about our conduct.
Why I dispute it
I respectfully disagree with the finding on a number of grounds. By way of some context: I had never met this client, as they had joined our firm with the employment of a member of staff who had resigned before the issue arose. Honestly, we missed completely taking care of them — but we also received no board of directors' instructions from them over a two-year period. I do not say this to relitigate the matter; I say it so a prospective client knows where I stand on it.
There were other specifics that I also disagreed with, but unfortunately the only means of appealing this is via the High Court, which is prohibitively expensive.
What has changed since
In the period since, I have reduced the number of clients we were looking after in order to eliminate the risk of this recurring — we removed 25% of our existing client base at that time. We completed our second PSRA audit, which returned a 100% pass result and assisted in restoring our credibility with the regulatory authority. We also explained the findings to our clients, and they all continued to trust and retain us as their managing agent of choice.
The point of OMC Advisory is to apply that experience — including the lessons of this matter — in the interests of investors, boards, and AHB clients who need someone independent in the room.
What my work shows
A prospective client doing due diligence is welcome to verify the following independently:
- OMCs where I have served as a director since 2011 — chair / co-director contactable on request as a reference.
- Retained the company's PSRA licence annually since 2011.
- All staff completed statutory annual CPD.
